International Church Council Project
Unity Around Orthodoxy
To establish for the Twenty First
Century
a biblical-theological standard of doctrine
for the Body of Christ in
70 targeted countries,
which is consistent
with the mainstream
orthodox theology
of the first 20 centuries.
I admire the efforts of Jay Grimstead and the other men who have worked diligently over the years to turn the tide of theological carelessness within the church of Jesus Christ. To date, the Council has put together twenty position papers on various key issues that define Christian orthodoxy. The documents, and more information about the ICCP, may be found at the link below.
Here are the topics of the twenty position papers:
- Biblical Inerrancy
- Biblical Hermeneutics
- The 42 Articles of the Essentials of a Christian Worldview
- The Kingdom of God
- The Omniscience of God and Human Freedom
- The Pelagian Controversy
- The Judicial and Substitutionary Nature of Salvation
- The Trinity
- The Eternal Fate of Unbelievers
- The Lordship of Christ
- Unity in the Body of Christ
- Church Discipline
- Culture, Contextualization and Missions
- The Christian's Civic Duties
- Biblical Economic Systems

A key day in the history of the ICCP was August 6-9, 2003. This date marked the the North American Consultation on Theology in conjunction with the Western Hemisphere Consultation on Theology held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The twenty documents were presented and theologians from all over the world gathered to examine the documents and submit their input. After the consultation, we signed a statement affirming the need for continued reformation in the church.
